Trevor Wright
Senior Partner

Trevor, one of the founding Partners of Groom Wilkes & Wright LLP, has been involved in the trade mark profession for over 42 years, representing world class international brands across numerous sectors. He is practised in all aspects of trade mark and design law including searching, filing and renewing trade marks, recordal of assignments and licenses, advising in connection with disputes, filing and prosecuting oppositions, defending against incoming oppositions and advising on infringement matters. Trevor's passion for his company, staff and clients, together with his dedication to delivering a first class service, has made GWW one of the stand-out trade mark attorney firms in the UK today.

Katy Adams

Katy has worked in intellectual property for over 25 years, representing large global brands. Her vast experience, both in-house and in private practice, spans numerous sectors in all aspects of trade mark law.

She has expertise in portfolio management including searching, filing and prosecuting trade mark applications, filing and defending oppositions, dealing with intellectual property transactions and providing strategic advice.

Katy has an impressive academic background - she was awarded an MA in French and German from the University of Cambridge and is a qualified trade mark attorney.

Katy worked for one of the world's leading beverage companies and managed a trade mark team at a city law firm before joining  GWW in 2011.

Helen Wright
Partner

Helen has worked in the trade mark industry for over 20 years, both in-house and in private practice. Her experience enables her to provide bespoke advice to any type of client from start-ups to multi-national companies, in any field of industry.

She has vast experience in all aspects of acquisition, management and exploitation of trade marks.

Helen was awarded a law degree from Kings College, London before completing her training both in private practice and in-house at Unilever Plc. Having worked in-house, Helen has valuable insight into the process from the point of view of the client, enabling her to truly understand the commercial decisions which need to be made.

Helen joined GWW in 2010.

Clare Mullarkey
Partner

Clare has worked in the trade mark profession since 2003. Her experience ranges from working with globally recognised brands through to new start up businesses, across a wide breadth of industries.

Having worked in-house and in private practice, Clare has a very good understanding of the variety of challenges faced from a client’s perspective, applying a practical level of commerciality to her advice.

Her extensive experience covers the full range of trade mark services, from searching and selecting new brands, to securing registration around the world as well as enforcing and exploiting trade mark rights on behalf of her clients.

Clare obtained her degree in Law from the University of Leicester in 2003 before joining the global trade mark team at Unilever. Before joining GWW in 2021 she gained experience working in small boutique IP firms as well as a multi-national law firm.

Andrew Hawley
Partner
Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, LLB (Hons), LLM, MCITMA​

Andrew is a Chartered UK Trade Mark Attorney with over 20 years’ experience. During his career, Andrew has worked both in-house and in private practice covering all aspects of trade mark and design law, which allows him to fully understand the commercial considerations from the client’s perspective.

Andrew has vast experience in the searching, filing and prosecution of trade mark applications, as well as the filing and defending of opposition, invalidation and revocation actions.

Andrew also provides strategic and portfolio advice, as well as advising on intellectual property transactions, such as co-existence and licence agreements. Andrew has also advised a number of Japanese Corporations in prosecuting, enforcing and defending their trade mark and design rights.

Andrew obtained an honours degree in Law from the University of Warwick, as well as a masters degree in Intellectual Property Law.

​Before joining GWW in 2022, Andrew worked for one of the UK’s largest Intellectual Property firms, as well as working in-house for a large sportwear company and a multi-national tobacco company.

Puravee Shah
Partner
Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, BSc (Hons), Msc, MCITMA

Puravee has over 20 years of experience in intellectual property.  She advises a range of clients, from start-ups, SMEs to large corporations on all aspects of trade mark work including trade mark strategies, clearance searching, prosecution of marks, policing and enforcement of rights, and renewals.

She is an experienced prosecutor and particularly enjoys the challenges of contentious matters such as infringement, opposition, cancellation actions, and trade mark related litigation.  The majority of Puravee's practice involves handling disputes that are successfully settled without initiating proceedings.

Puravee has worked with a variety of international clients in a number of sectors, including, pharmaceutical and agricultural, food and beverages, fashion, creative agencies, electronics and telecommunications.

Before joining GWW in 2022, Puravee worked for a leading UK and European Intellectual Property firm for many years.

Michelle Murray-Carter
Senior Paralegal

Michelle assists the attorneys with all aspects of trade mark portfolio management and has considerable experience with the filing, registering, updating and renewing of UK, EU and overseas trade marks.

Before joining GWW Michelle was a legal PA for a top city law firm for 12 years, and has worked in the legal industry for over 25 years.

Michelle joined GWW in 2008 and successfully completed the ITMA Trade Mark Administrators Course in 2012

Laura Searle
Accounts Manager

Laura keeps GWW business procedures on track. She is responsible for managing the accounting systems in the company, including purchase and sales order processing, together with credit control and management reporting.

In addition Laura provides administrative support to the GWW team and liaison between our clients, suppliers and associates.​

She joined GWW in 2012 and runs a seamless finance division, the backbone of any business.

Leticia Rayner
Paralegal

Leticia is responsible for administration support to the entire GWW team.

With 11 years of paralegal experience in intellectual property, she is practised in all administration aspects of trade mark and design protection , enforcement and prosecution.

Leticia was awarded a Media Production degree from the University of Bedfordshire, and is a qualified ITMA Trade Mark Administrator.

She joined GWW in 2012 and is an integral member of the team.

Phoebe Tomlin
Office Administrator

Phoebe is the office administrator at Groom, Wilkes & Wright. She works closely with the attorneys, paralegals and accounts manager and assists with a wide variety of office administration and is a vital part of the GWW team.

Phoebe was awarded an English Literature and Creative Writing degree from the University of Gloucestershire.

She joined GWW in 2022.
